  • I am not a political person, at all.  But I adore Barak Obama.  He is just so cute.  I know stupid reason to back someone politically, but he seems very smart too and articulate, and he seems real and dare I say honest.  I would vote for him in a heartbeat if he ran for president.
I don't think he's going to though.  Damn.  I really, like him.
I'm sick with a bad cold.
Thursday my baby turns eighteen, not to make it all about me, but I'm really old. However, it also means I raised two kids, with help ( but mostly me) to adulthood.  Neither of them had to go to juvenile jail, no suspensions from school, no sexually transmitted diseases, and they are nice people who get good grades.  Pretty good huh?
We took Matt out to dinner with my dad and step mom last night ( Bubbe and papa).  here is some of our dinner conversation

Me: So who wants to hear about divorce court?

Matt:  Are you guys divorced yet?

Me: nope, I'll let ya know.

Jennie giggles because she has already read the court story on here

Me:  well, there was a prostitute lawyer

Half deaf needs a hearing aide papa: What?  What kind of lawyer?  A _____insert lawyer word here?

    Me: No! A prostitute lawyer

Papa: What? What kind of lawyer?

Me: A WHORE!  THE LAWYER LOOKED LIKE A WHORE!

Papa: Oh a whore, we have a lawyer, no a judge, she's a judge in my building, she looks like a whore

    Bubbe: Who?

PaPa : you know so and so.....

    Bubee:  She's not a judge!

    Papa:  Oh, a lawyer then

    Bubbe: Richard!  She sells wine!!!

Highly amusing, however, now after my head has cleared somewhat from my cold, I am wondering why my dad would think a wine seller was a judge and what a wine seller is doing in his building which is mostly law firms.

Anyway, I continue with the story and tell them about the polar opposite lawyer on the other side.

Semi ex: Did you see her pen?

    Me: No, what pen?

Semi ex: It was huge, almost as big as her, ( shows how big the pen was with his hands)

Me: She was huge, with spandex pants

Semi ex: She must have been at least 500 pounds, and she had a giant pen.  I've never seen a pen that big.

Bubbe:  Maybe she thought she would break a normal size pen.

We all agree, which is rare.

  • Your family is very like-minded....sounding. For this one instance, I guess. =P Colds suck.

  • Sorry about not feeling good, I guess with all luck you can give it to everyone else then you will be gone with it.

As for the dinner sounded like you all had a great time. Tell Matt Happy Birthday!

  • I really like Obama too. Someone that good will never run for president though. :(

Hope you are feeling better soon!

  • Hope you get to feeling much better soon. Wow, you can even be humorous when you don't feel well...you're a better woman than I! Happy Birthday (early) to Matt! :coolman:

  • Could you do some research on Barack for me... Ya know... in your free time!
Take your time, I don't need the info for another... well, 'til the Primary.

  • You're not old ... your baby is just getting older, NOT you!!!  :goodjob:  Funny conversation ... gotta love your family!!  I hope you are feeling better .. it sucks to be sick ... I was sick for a few weeks and I'm still not 100% ... get better soon!! :heartbeat: Alicia

  • LOL.  I am imagining a  500 pound woman in a spandex unitard with a leather suit jacket and thigh boots writing with a pen the size of those giant crayons.

I like Obama as well.  At first I thought you said you didn't like him and I was wondering why you were saying all this good stuff about him and that he should run for president.

  • Obomum Barukiduki. Sounds muslim. Is he native American and where did he get that name. I mean Barak Obama. Sounds like short for--Bare Back  Old Alabama. Huh?

I was in a Lawyers office one time. It was in back of his TV repair shop. Lawyers surprise you. Not like TV lawyers at all. Real slime balls some of them.

  • that's hilarious,  the pen joke!........sounds like that must be where you got your sense of humor!.........I hope you get to feeling better soon........(_)    <  that is a virtual cup of chicken soup!   (sorry the best I could do!)

    Congrats on your sons birthday...........!!

  • well, that was some good  reading!!

i understand busy, it just never lets up, so no sweat on not getting around, i can't keep up either.

i LOVE your halloween picture!    shelly

  • Happy birthday Matt   :) Oh to be 18 again!  I can dream.

I hope you will feel better soon cold sucks :(

    Take care  hugs

  • glad to hear in your misery of cold and flu you haven't lost your sense of humor! We miss you when you're not around. get better soon!

18 -- yikes. I'm not looking forward to that!

  • I just caught up on your posts and am so glad that things went well in court. You & semi-ex pretending to be affectionate in front of the other divorcees is pretty hysterical. I'm glad you guys are able to poke fun at the situation even though it's still difficult. Keep your chin up, things will continue to improve. :heartbeat:

  • I think cute is a good reason to back someone.  That is why I back Hillary.  She has that smart, hot chick thing going.

  • Hope you feel better soon.

  • FOMCLMAO!! Oh, honey. Life with you is never boring, I'll say that much. And I think Obama is pretty damned cute too. So there!

  • :nono:

That's it I'm convinced that the internet can pass germs.  You gave me your cold, dammit.

    :whocares:

  • I would vote for him too! I think a lot of people would.

  • ROFL.....get to feeling better...Love ya!

  • Feel Better Friend

  • That's freakin funny.  Sounds like you and semi-ex get along pretty well for nearly-exes.  That is so much better than bitterness and bile. Conversations take on so much more hilarity when hearing-impaired are involved, don't they?

  • Dinner with the family... always something new

  • You will deffinately need to read "Stories From My Father" by Barrack Obama. It's fantastic. I want him for president!

  • Why was my father also losing his hearing? Men don't like to listen so thats why they lose their hearing.
My mother could see far but reading things close up was a real chore for her. I wonder if I'll lose anything when I get old?

Would my ex wife lie to protect me? I don't think so. She was more loyal to her mother than to me. At least semi-ex is at times loyal to you and at other times maybe not so loyal or devoted.

Yes sometimes devoted spouses will stick around whether or not they want to do it. Then again there is a thin line between loyal and devoted so that I can't see much difference between the two, or think that it matters.

Anyway that is just a mini rant, I guess this issue might be too sensitive for you to explore.... Have a good week and maybe celebrate Matt's birthday with something special(just to blog about it?)

  • I'm sorry I was absent in your moments of need, Laura!!!! Hope you are beginning to feela bit better and get things worked out soon. Thats gotta suck...

Love the court story. Lawyer Barbie...thats funny stuff.

  • Family conversations can be hilarious, as you've demonstrated!

I like Obama too.  I wish we could clone him enough times to fill Congress and every state legislature and governorship.

  • i hope u get well soon!

  • That sounds like some of the conversations that go on around here. Happy birthday to Matt!

  • :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:  I agree with everyone above when your sick your a biger blast.

  • Ummm   I just Googled Obama,  and he's HOT !!!!   Who hoo !!!!!  I think the whole court things is funny !!  By any chance,  can you snap a few pictures with your phone next time?   lol   Cheap entertainment.   :)

  • Does Semi Ex know about your blog? Hmmmm.

  • I agree that Obama would make an excellent prezzie.  There's rumors he's planning to run in 2008.  I loved the convo about the lawyer - let's hope she's not on Xanga and recognizes herself.  Parent!  Gotta love em!  Can't afford to buy 'em a hearing aid.

  • Hope you feel better soon.

  • oh man, that story just made me laugh outloud at work.

  • I am passing out a  blessing today.

    The Lord bless you and keep you;
    The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
The Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.

    Blessings, Numbers 6:24-26

  • I love it when you write out your conversations. And I love Obama, too. He's cute and articulate, and he has good policy. My mom agrees that he needs to get an some Foreign Policy committee this time around in the Senate. Then he might be ready for the Presidency - and do some good

  • You are just so funny! Hope you get rid of your cold soon--sending some healing wishes! :heartbeat:

  • Barak is cute. He does seem like a genuine character.

  • :wave:stopped by to tell you to have a great day!:sunny:
    :goodjob:cookie:fun:

  • I really know very little about Obama except that he's articulate, likeable, and popular.  I don't know enough about his positions to judge how I'd like him as president.  He's kind of new to national politics, though... so '08 may be too soon for him.  On the other hand, stranger things have happened.

Congratulations on Matt's 18th!  You officially can no longer be held liable for what he does!

  • I'd vote for him.  :goodjob:
