  • Edit below:

Semi ex took me to see Borat last night.  Is it offensive? yes, Are some parts disgusting? Yes. Is there potty humor? Yes.  Did I laugh so hard my ribs hurt today?  YES!
I don't care about the controversy, I needed a good laugh and this provided it.  I have not laughed so hard in ages.  People need to lighten up.
Warning, go pee before you go in the theater, not kidding, glad I did.

Jennie update:  She got no sleep on the 18 hour or whatever it was flight, when they got to Tel Aviv she was exhausted, they had to walk around for hours.  Tel Aviv looks like Florida.  They sat on a grassy area where she had an allergy attack with her contacts in.  Her eyes swelled up.  She took someones allergy meds that made her drowsy, she walked around in an exhausted fog.  She is feeling better now and they are leaving Tel Aviv.  Did I give her the vacation curse?  I hope not, lets do the anti curse chant together " curse be gone!"

My song went over well, but they made me read the disclaimer ( losers).

As with Borat, some people were afraid to laugh, but did anyway.

One of the counselors said it was the bomb and she is keeping it as a traditional holiday party song.

I have to go shopping for matt's Chanukah gifts.  I will be gone all day.

I will try to get around later.

Go see Borat, unless you have a stick up your butt.  In which case leave my site.

By the way, if you saw the movie, the boys in the hood?  Those are my boys at work, I mean not the actual boys, but they could be.  And I thought they came off much better than the idiot frat boys.

Edit:  someone needs to get borat out of my head.  Laughing alone in parking lots makes you look crazy and my ribs/sides hurt.

I also remember in the midst of a very funny scene the panel of the wall in the theater fell off and almost hit semi ex in the head.  Semi ex and others moved it, but we were all laughing so hard, no one bothered to get an usher.  That just made the movie funnier.

Oh and for enquiring minds, why were semi ex and i on a movie date?

Three weeks ago Me:  I want to see Borat REALLY bad, so and son and so and so said it's hysterical but I have no one to go with

Semi ex: don't look at me, you know I like to wait until video

    Last night

Semi ex:  I read and article about Borat, it sounds great and you have been working really hard, lets go see it

    So there you have it.

  • I saw Borat and dared people to go see it. I screamed at the one part (you know which part)! Even though the movie was so disgusting...we laughed our butts off too.

  • Hey, I have no idea what Borat is all about, but if it's that funny, maybe H and I will go see it on Monday.  We were going to see the Will Ferrell movie that everyone but us has already seen.  Hmmm, decisions, decisions!

Oh, I hope Jennie has not inherited your vacation curse!  I don't have allergies, but when my contacts act up, that's bad enough!  Poor kid!  I hope she is able to enjoy the remainder of her trip!  What an experience!

Good luck with the Chanukah gift shopping today!  Happy Chanukah to you and yours!

  • My step daughter saw Borat last night. I may have to go. I need a good laugh right about now!

  • I want to go see that movie!!  I love potty humor ... and I could use a good laugh!!!  I will have to remember to pee first!!!!  RYC:  Hell yes!!  I say, let's go for it!!!  Can you imagine us being mother-in-laws ... how much freakin' fun would that be????????  And I agree ... our kids will certainly be earning a nice living someday .. and they will be able to support their dear mothers ... MAYBE, they can build us our very own special in-law cottage on the property of their estate ... that sounds like a plan to me!!!  How can we get these two together?????  *thinking hard*

  • I plan to see this with my 17 year old son.  Thanks for the review!

  • I've been wanting to see Borat.......I think our humor is similar, so I think I would laugh too!  I am so sick of "political correctedness" I could scream!  Loosen up people!!:goodjob:

I'm glad your song went over well..........You rock!

  • I thought that man was going to be so stupid, but then I actually saw him on SNL and it cracked me up. So I wouldnt' mind seeing it.. although I'll wait for it to come out on DVD, since I'm cheap.

  • I would go see the movie...If I went to the movies.  I think everyone suing and crap is stupid!  It's HUMOR folks!!

  • My family, that is my husband and boys saw that movie. They loved it. I couldn't see cause I have a young daughter and we watched Deck the Halls. It was good movie.  I can't wait till my daughter is a little older so we can all watch the same movies. Have a great weekend! :coolman:

  • Are you going to work a contract for seeing movies together in your divorce agreement? Your not really getting divorced are you? The entire thing is just a ploy to blog about.

  • I do want to see Borat.

I never could understand people who refuse to TRY to sleep on long flights. Even if one doesn't fall asleep per se, the rest with the eyes closed is some 70% of the real thing. With the eyes closed, one enters the imaginative, near dream state even if one doesn't actually fall asleep (in a way you do anyway). But people who stay awake the whole flight have the consciousness of willpower, pain, struggle. Those who don't sleep on the transatlantic will be remarkably weakened (for example the thing with the contact lens), and miss like three days complaining about "jet lag", while the sleepers and pseudo-sleepers will miss almost no days to jet lag. Just my opinion.

  • that sounds like an excellent idea.  I should go see Borat either tomorrow or later tonight.

  • I haven't seen it.  LC walked out though - (something about a character taking a dump in a plastic bag and bringing it to the table....).  I will have to see for myself of course.

  • RYC: I don't take offense to much. Just look at who I'm related to! (Gotta run before she reads it and catches me!)

  • ^^^^ Ahhh ... if YOU are talking about me, Lauren, you are sooo busted!!!!  Speaking of my niece ... she's all for having you as part of the family!!  So we have to figure out a way of getting these two together ... hmmm .... :goodjob:

  • That movie was hilarious ...

I thought them running naked through the hotel was great and the Pam Anderson thing *LMAO*

gah! I will have to buy just for the hell of it when it comes out ...

  • Borat..........so was he so convincing to Kid Rock that it caused him and Pamela to get divorced?.......what was she in it?

  • uhhh...congrats on the date?
    just kiddin'. ;)

    thansk for the message!

  • "curse be gone"...:giggle:

You should keep Borat in your head as long as possible:lol::lol: just to keep a smile on you face, who cares if people see you giggling :giggle: in your car? I sing to the radio when I am stuck at a light. And when people give me odd expressions I smile  real big and wave :sunny:

    Have a nice weekend

  • Somebody take me too....

  • That guy Borat cracks me up..it's great how he can be so funny & not crack up at himself when doing it...LOL..

  • Aren'[t you a little late buying the Hanukkah gifts? As far as I know, it started at sundown last night. Tomorrow we're going to see the Hebrew school version of a Christmas pageant. The girl-child is playing the the part of a Giant Gelt. There's also Giant Latke, Giant Dreidel and Giant Menorah, I think.

    Happy Hanukkah!

  • I am wanting to see the Fountain, but I need to laugh my face off.

  • oh yeah...and Happy Hanukkah!

  • So how do I find this song folks are raving about?
