Wow, people got deep with that last entry. I meant it to be lighthearted but I appreciate the input.
Matt is sick again and has bowed to my expertise into making him better ( that's how sick he is) This is odd since I got totally yelled at last week for being an over controlling Jewish mother hen. Now that he has given me permission, I have nothing to offer. If he would have taken my advice to begin with he wouldn't be so sick. I will make him a doctors apt. tomorrow.
Pet Peeve of the day, when you get a call saying the following " we really need to talk to you but unfortunately all of our agents are busy, please stay on the line..." Excuse me? You called me! If your too busy to chat don't call. I never stay on the line to hear who's calling. I figure if they really want to talk to me they will call with a real person.
I am also annoyed with the doctors office. I called them at 6:00 pm. and they said they were closed. The message lists their hours as being until 7:30 pm. Don't give those hours if your not going to be there.
I learned that Xanga hand chooses the front page now. I have been pushing for that since I have been on here. Featured content always bugged me.
Wouldn't that be a fun job? Reading and picking favorite entries for the front page?
Show choir director gave Matt a bill for $102.00, this is for the window breakage. Technically, I don't mind paying the bill, or rather making Matt pay the bill, but this school was so old Laura Ingels Wilder could have gone there. As a matter of fact, they announced that they are rasing money for big school renovations. Really, we should be suing them for having thin windows and for having that fake nurse, who never gave us a ride to the hospital. But I am going to be the bigger person, teach Matt a lesson, and pay. Then Matt will have to pay me back. But just to be bitchy, I may only pay 101.00. Matt does not want to ask the girl, his accomplice, to pay half , because she didn't put her arm through the window. I'm not sure this is fair, it was her idea to play the game, and it was her dad who taught her the game. She started it in front of the window. And of course he's going to be dumb and play, she's really cute. I have a feeling the cuteness has something to do with Matt not wanting to share the bill. Whatever, it's his bill, so he can decide.
I am relieved this dangerous activity is almost over. Six years is plenty. Although, I may stalk the choir room next year.
I would like to end this with another sad commentary about my job. I was holding my Jodi Picoult book, a new, normal sized, hard cover book. A coworker, takes the book and says' " That book look so heavy, but when you hold it, it ain't heavy itall"
Need I say more?

Adorable profile pic! I thought I'd miss the high school scene and stalk the band room and such... but nope, good memories but no desire to go back:redcar21:
He should make the girl pay half - but you're right, it's up to him.
I like the hand-picking of Featured sites. I don't think that will last forever, though. I just have a hunch.
I never wait for those assholes that call and then put you on hold when you answer.
BTW, HOW DO YOU "MAKE HER PAY HALF"? :girldance30:
Love the dog in the car..... love it...
I missed the second part to your entry last time, but read it now since you elluded to religious controversy.... I know people like that are doing "their job"... I do... but, at the church that I have recently started, they know that shoving stuff down peoples throats isn't the way to go... what misled church thinks thats ok??? The Jehovahs.... but then with that "lieing" she did (and you're right, that was lieing) I would go with Mormons.... they always have those "how to raise your teenager" commercials, things that sound interesting, but its just their sales pitch.
This will be a good lesson for Matty.... Make him responsible and upstanding before he comes my way, thanks.
Ok... in honor of the dog
:redcar21:
Did I ever tell you that I watched Jesus Camp??? It was freaky. It was all good to a point...but then it was just too much... very odd..... scary like cheerleaders.:cheer10:
Talk about insult to injury, how did they know that their window was not a public nuicsance? The glass could have been cracked previously and not replaced so it could be negligence. I think they should thank their stars that they aren't being sued...
Hmm since it comes out that the father taught the daughter this type of activity maybe he can be sued because he didn't teach his daughter well? Gee I am sorry I didn't read the blog in where you state that you quite the book club. Serves me right for not keeping up to date on the MomofJen&Matt blog.
Hmm, I wonder if Barbara Streisand had a pushy Jewish mother that got her famous????
I'm sure Matt won't ask the girl to pay half, even though she certainly should. Maybe she will volunteer. Yeah, right. You are right - since he is paying, he can decide to pay it all himself or ask her to pay her share. :question27:
About the religious thing: The girl that R took to prom last year is a sweet and smart girl - just wonderful. She is also Mormon. R has known her since the first day of kindergarten. They have gone to each other's kiddie birthday parties, and hung out in groups all through school. One of her friends told R that the girl's parents said R would be perfect "if only he were Mormon". Grrrr. She naturally went to BYU this year.

:lol29: laughing at the book comment, but only bc it's so been there done that in my life! pa. a well raised young man would never think of asking a girl for half the money... ok... so that's from a different time... but i think it may apply. men are supposed to take responsibility for stuff- aren't they? tho that would mean he forks over the cash and i'm sure it'll be a few years b4 that happens! (if he's like my own matt)
:catdance1:Hey Laura,
I hope Matt is better soon!!
I get annoyed with those phone calls too!!
Love, Candy
I hate those kind of answering machines too, like you said, THEY called US, WHY would we want to hold? DUH!
I hope Matt feels better soon.................in time to pay his bill!
I hang on when I get a recorded call. If you're too busy to talk to me when YOU called...it's not worth my time either.
I thought I would miss my daughter's competetive cheer days, but that lasted about a minute. But I do still miss Son's musicals and plays. After someone gets hurt so badly in your school, it seems pretty rude to send them a bill. Obviously the window was not in good shape or it wouldn't have broken like that. I'd have a problem paying the bill.
Only a Jewish mother, in caring for a sick child, would also agree that if he'd listened to her he wouldn't be sick in the first place.
Pay? WTH? That is why schools have INSURANCE. Their insurance should cover the window and the arm! I would only send in $100. LOL
Hope everyone feels better soon, and yeah, totally hang up on those calls.
You mean to tell me that someones post that says "About my life.............I like pens" was actually HAND SELECTED for the front page? ughhhhh!
Well never judge a book by it's weight! Hope Matt feels better soon!
I hope Matt feels better!
See Laura, you ARE an interesting writer! Thanks for pointing out the FC pick for me. I had no idea I was on there. Aren't you working for Xanga yet?
