  • Without Price

    Or Not.

Priceless?  Without price?  I am usually not cynical, but everything has a price when you think about it.

When a kid does something really cute, we say it was priceless.   Or if something is really funny.

Well, WE don't really say that, because I don't think I use that expression.  But some do.  It is probably used more after the commercials.  You know the ones I mean.

My children are priceless by the definition we are all thinking of.  But without price, not so much.  As a matter of fact, they are pretty expensive, although worth it.

Since it's Fathers Day I should probably say something like, spending time with Dad is priceless, but I hate cliche's in blogs, they are so cliche.  Okay, that's not exactly cliche, but close enough.

Back to the original topic, priceless.  Obviously it means something is so great you can't put a price on it.  Like a baby's smile, or spending time with dear old dad,   You know, all the mushy stuff.  Or it can mean you just heard the funniest thing ever.  This would probably occur in a comedy club though, and the drinks they force you to buy are definitely not priceless.

Mastercard has a priceless.com.  I know this because I googled priceless.  You can submit what is priceless to you.  Some of the picks look pretty expensive to me, like riding the waves in paradise.  Well you would have to either live in paradise, which is most likely expensive, or you would have to be able to travel to paradise, which I know is expensive.  That's why I live in non -paradise suburbia and don't travel to paradise.

So there you have it, priceless.  For other priceless entries ( hey is that a double entendre?) go here

Happy Dads Day.  You know who you are.

  • Hi, Laura!  RYC:  Thanks for the birthday wishes, and of course I saw them!  :cupcake14:

Are the kids kidnaping exsponge for the day?

    Kathi

  • The other priceless things are those artifacts whose value is so high that they could never begin to determine its price like ancient jewelry.

Interesting point about priceless family members. I saw an analysis one time that all the minerals in the human body are worth about a dollar and change. If you think about the 6+ billion humans in the world, perhaps that is even worth less because of supply and demand. If we had a fraction of that amount of people, perhaps we would be more valuable. :hmmm22:http://xd8.xanga.com/9bfb143145c28114420742/t2074955.gif

  • another pricelss post , i enjoyed this one

  • My children aren't priceless.  In fact, they are on sale right now.  Just kidding.

  • Hmm... I never realized the irony.  How our most "priceless" things are so expensive, like our kids and vacations.

And yet I consider boyfriends expensive, and they are far from priceless. lol

  • I like how Swedish expresses things being without another thing. The suffix -lös is for something that is negative with that missing component, and -fri is something that is positive with that missing component. Like meningslös is meaningless and that is negative that it is without meaning, whereas kostnadsfri is without cost (a bit like priceless), and that's a good thing :)

  • What a priceless entry!

  • Some things money just can't buy! :sillygrin28:

  • good job as always

  • happy evening to you!  hope you have a great week!~

  • I'm sitting here trying to think of a comment...having total brain fart tonight...sorry...

  • I'm at a loss as to how to answer this challenge, but you've done it very cleverly.  I'm such a bad Xangafriend lately, I haven't commented for ages and  I've only posted occasionally.  It was nice to drop by today and visit you.  Hope all is well!

  • It's a pun (not a double entendre) - okay stop groaning - and I'm NOT mom.... and my kid's were not priceless, they cost $14,000 - but I got two for the price of one. - Happy Father's day!

  • I guess the word "priceless" is another of those words that people shake their heads over and comment that English is a language that breaks a lot of rules.

  • I hate cliches, too. Oh heck, I didn't even mention Father's Day today. Oh well...there you go...that's priceless!

  • Hmmm, priceless? The hot fudge and caramel sundaes one of my employees surprised us with last Friday afternoon, when it was hot,  :sun3: and speaking for myself, minds were frazzled! :blur6:

  • Hmm sounds expensive. I guess nothing is braceless- the beautiful smile after getting braces removed...priceless- wait no thats $6000 you'll never get back again!

  • You're right, our kids are priceless but they don't come without a price. My hubby always says if it weren't for how expensive they are he'd have a boat and all the toys he wants. :sillygrin28:

  • You know, just being alive is priceless.

  • I always wondered why "priceless" didn't mean "valueless"

  • :o mg24: I googled it too...and what a shocker. I spent the rest of the night trying to figure out how to undo History!

  • I think everything costs money. . .

And I imagine most anything can be "priceless" to SOMEBODY, depending upon who you are and where you are.  I mean, stuff today we take for granted like lights/electricity/refrigeration/indoor plumbing people didn't always have!

Gee, you a "priceless" featured_grownup's entry could probably be done on that very topic.

  • Just priceless!!!:omg24:

  • I liked your post. Very interesting read. Everything does have a price attached and may be worth it but is costly. I don't know if I'm totally used to Mary or if she has grown on me that much but I don't get nearly as annoyed by her as I did last year.

  • I love reading a book anytime.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • :hi1:  Well, I started out at your site at work :blog17: but then ran out of time and had to logoff!  It always takes a while to get caught up on all of your posts, but there weren't as many this week. :bubblegum36:  It's always fun to come over here and see how your mind is working on your entries... you "are" very entertaining! Priceless :hmmm22: ?  I was telling my boss today that I just feel "out of it" today (maybe too much sun and fun over the weekend! :sillygrin28:), so I'm not going to make my brain work on thinking of something tonight! :blur6:  Until next time... tootles! :bye2:

  • :tigger34: :tigger34: :tigger34: I love tigger.
Well, you make a good point.

  • Everything that happened is priceless, the future will cost us presently...
In some ways peace of mind is hopelessly impossible to obsessed folks. I try to be anti-obsessed and it drives the obsessed more obsessed.

Now that you purchased a lifetime of Xanga, you'll be obsessed if it discontinues or gets absorbed by another company. Will buying a lifetime just be a temporary pleasure? The future will tell you.....

If you are an artist then some objects are priceless. If you are an evaluator then it is your job to make it have a price. If you close your eyes and your mind it can become priceless or worthless depending on your point of view. Fortunately you have not turned off your mother function so your children will remain priceless....

  • This entry was... Priceles... saw that coming didn't cha! lol Ang

  • :tigger34:My son loves this Tigger from your site!  He also loves the "Noopy" :snoopy23: as he calls him.

     I couldn't agree more with this post.....bravo!

  • Hello~

    bc55-de6b4f690fe4.html" target="_blank">Jijija now

  • :snoopy23: Very interesting.  I will have to google it now too.

  • Credit card commerical are certainly not priceless... and everytime I see one, I go :pout30: and :hmmm22:, because I have had to be in debt management more than once in my life... but still some things are priceless. They are not things I would get with a credit card though.

Hope you are having a wonderful day!
    Hugs, Tricia :hi1:

  • There are a lot of things that are priceless.........Your humor is priceless :)

  • This reminded me of the Shel Silverstein poem "Sister For Sale"...Don't ask why.

  • its sad, but nothing in this world is priceless.  everything can be bought, most things can be sold.  some people say happiness can't be bought?  sure it can.  if buying something you want doesn't make you happy, you're kidding yourself.  :P

  • ha ha ha. Yeah I googled priceless too! That seems to be the popular way of thinking... not bad at all. I like your blog. Keep up the good work.

  • :flowerkiss12: what a priceless entry!

  • :sillygrin28: nice..

    hehhehe

  • :sillygrin28: nice ye

  • A bit of a different aproach from the rest...well done
