The Interview with a boy from the hood
I don't mean to beg, but for some reason it took me two hours to upload this, so PLEASE take a look.
Here you go @opticalnoise
Here are some reviews
The Xanga News says:
This is both humorous and poignant. Momofjenmatt (Miss Laura) could have used some make up and looked less frumpy. This video is also not timely, word has it, this was filmed a couple years ago. However the boy was fabulous, articulate, and informative. For that reason I give it 4 stars.
I'm not really a reviewer: Miss Laura seems silly and mentally challenged. Still I found myself riveted to the boy's words and his information on living in the projects of Chicago. 4.5 stars
WTF do I know: I found myself wishing Miss Laura had lost all the weight when filming this clip, she still looks kind of chunky. If she had filmed recently she would have looked much better. Her attempt at the joke towards the end is exactly why she is called LAME frequently by her students. Thumbs down for Miss Laura, but a huge thumbs up for the boy, putting up with her stupid questions and answering to the best of his ability. It was disappointing his face could not be shown. Miss Laura was aggravating to watch the whole time.
So please watch this small film _ The Interview filmed in 2009 ( I think ) - It really represents part of my interactions with the boys at work. Facebook gave it two thumbs up, but that's family and friends, tell me what you think. All reviews are welcome even bad ones.
Please work stupid video or I shall scream
Edit: The second one works for me, not the first.
I only time stamped so soon because this video is messed up, does not have all comments and is ver yannoying. Hope this helps.

This is a placeholder comment. I'm leaving work in five minutes, and will be back home in about an hour to watch it.
At that time, I will definitely definitely definitely watch it and give you a much better comment, I promise.
@opticalnoise - Thank you : ) see you in an hour.
Oh my. And I thought things were getting better... I guess the prejudice flows both ways. Sad.
@murisopsis - It worked for you? It didn't work for me at all!!!!!
This was an excellent interview and there is no way I am going near the projects in the city.
@Grannys_Place - Thank you, me either, and I'm glad the video worked for you, because I have been having issues. Thanks so much for taking the time to listen to it.
The video works.
Here's my review. Miss Laura has a cute voice and a pretty smile. This video breaks my heart, because I want to help, I want to fix it, and I don't know how, and I know that the fact that I'm white would mean my help would be rejected even if I did know how.
@opticalnoise - Thank you, I had the worst time with the video.
I guess I'm jaded because he is one of like 500 boys I have worked with. I'm just used to it. if it makes you feel better, he got his GED with us and a drivers license, so he might be doing ok now.
Both videos work for me Miss Laura. I thought this was pretty interesting and pretty stinking scary too... I shant be driving in Chicago at all, ever. Thank you. Because now I know they hate the white folk, and Jews (or whatever you is)... and his 82 YEAR OLD GRANNY STILL DEALS ROCK... wth???? If its so profitable, don't you think she could've retired by now?
Seriously though, that's scary. And SAD.
And again... I'm just struck... because I always felt that racism goes both ways, because I've actually been affected by it in the work place... a nurse (black) was talking and laughing with a receptionist (white and blonde) one day and when I came up and smiled at their laughter, I was told by the black nurse that they were talking about a Madea movie, but I wouldn't get it because I don't know anything about Madea..... WHAT???? First, she was talking to a white girl with blonde hair... no trace of "sister" in her at all... and second, I've seen Madea movies... what the hell does she think, that I'm not allowed because I'm WHITE??? And thirdly... YOU know my name... I have more sister in me just because of THAT than any stupid blonde receptionist...... I was VERY offended...
But I'm saddened by it too. LIke Opticalnoise says, even if we knew how to fix it, our help would be rejected. If we extended a hand in friendship or goodwill, it would automatically be cut off simply because of our skin... and that is sad. Racism is stupid and sad, no matter who is being affected.
@BubblysLife - sorry lol at the Jew or whatever you is, can't help it. Glad I saw your comment on the side Xanga is screwing with my comments now too ahhhhh! As far as I agree racism, I agree. When black boys first come they are very hostile to me as a white woman, the worst, but then we develop a rapport. Some day I post a really funny one where I tried to convince one that my kids were goody goodys.
@momofjenmatt - I actually giggled out loud when he said "white, or jew or whatever you is." He sounds like a nice enough kid... I would hope that the rapport you build with them might show them that all whites aren't the enemy... maybe your impression that you leave will help them later... idk... I'm sure you hope that too.
@BubblysLife - no we for sure plant some good seeds, I know that for sure. I end up liking the ones I have a problem with the best in the end.
You're still awake? You must live more out west?
@DivaJyoti - it's called insomnia. Live in Chicago subs
@momofjenmatt - Oh well, I have to stay up all night. Hop on over.
second time I've watched, and still SO sad! I know you do good with these boys. Even just allowing them to tell about where they come from hopefully makes them reflect and want to live better than their environment.
Grandma dealing at 82! Oy!
@transvestite_rabbit - you're telling me. Oy is right.
